Thom Tran is a Los Angeles-based comedian, actor, musician, and U.S. Army combat veteran who turned one hell of a war story into a career making people laugh. After surviving a sniper wound in Iraq, Tran traded combat boots for a microphone and founded The GIs of Comedy, an all-veteran troupe that has entertained troops and civilians around the world. 

A regular at the Laugh Factory, Tran has appeared in Bosch: Legacy, SEAL Team, NCIS: Los Angeles, Netflix’s Larry Charles’ Dangerous World of Comedy, and My Dead Friend Zoe. In 2026, he brought The GIs of Comedy to Netflix Is a Joke—proving sometimes the best weapon really is a killer punchline.
