Created by, Edwin San Juan and Black Mike back in, September of 2005, Slanted Comedy was a platform for up and coming Asian stand up comedians - Jokoy, Ken Jeong and Russell Peters to name a few who have graced our stages. After Edwin left the producing reins to, Black Mike, comedian Walter Hong joined as a partner in 2010 and Slanted Comedy continues to thrive as the longest running Asian comedy show in the country. Our goal is to bring you the best in comedy delivered in an Asian package.

Kevin Shea

Kevin Shea is an adopted Korean comedian from Bethlehem, PA. He moved out to San Francisco after college and began his stand-up career there. He quickly became a staple in the San Francisco comedy scene and went on to have immediate success by doing the Montreal Comedy Festival and Jimmy Kimmel Live.

Ron Josol

Ron Josol, is a Canadian-Filipino comedian who is well received from every corner of the world. Ron stirs up and samples the multi-cultural melting pot that mirrors life in most urban centers today. He presents hilarious scenarios and comments on our global society inherent contradictions by combining a one-liner and a story telling style. He regularly performs in Canada, UK, Scandinavia, Caribbean, Asia, Middle east, Australia and USA. He has performed around the world for almost 20 years which makes him one of the most sought after n vibrant comics today.

Walter Hong

Walter Hong’s latest stint as a stand up comic began at the open mic slot for Chocolate Sundaes at the Laugh Factory in Hollywood, CA. Two performances later, he was shown so much love from the all-black audience that he was made a Chocolate Sundaes regular. And shortly thereafter, he became a regular at the Laugh Factory in Hollywood. As a comedy sketch actor, he was in Kevin Hart’s sketch group The Comedy Playground and has performed with Wayne Brady, Cedric The Entertainer, Mark Curry and Damon Wayans. His voices can be heard on the Tom Joyner Morning Show and the Xbox video game: Bruce Lee: Quest Of The Dragon. And his acting can be witnessed on CBS’s Presidio Med and TNT’s Southland. He shot a comedy special called, The Kings Of Ktown, at the Laugh Factory in Hollywood which can be seen on Amazon Prime. Recently, he shot Comedy Central Asia’s Stand Up Asia. Currently, Walter performs at The Laugh Factory, Improv, Punchline, Cobb’s Comedy Club and numerous spots around the country. He is also fresh off performing in Hong Kong, Singapore, Malaysia, Guam and South Korea. You may also catch him touring with Slanted Comedy as a comedian and producer.

Paul Ogata

Paul Ogata is an award-winning comedian, part-time porn star and quite possibly America’s leading comedy export.


The Hawaii-born Ogata left his island home for Los Angeles in 2006 after a successful career as a top-rated morning radio personality. Shortly thereafter, Paul won the prestigious 32nd Annual San Francisco International Comedy Competition, putting him in an exclusive club with the likes of Dana Carvey, Sinbad, Doug Stanhope and other comedy greats.



This propelled Paul to numerous television appearances including The Late Late Show, Comedy Central’s Live at Gotham, Comics Unleashed, Celebrity Family Feud and Showtime’s “Pacific Rim Comedy.” In 2017, Paul shot a half-hour special for Comedy Central Asia. His 1-hour special, "A Collection of My Favorite Lies," can be seen on Amazon Prime.



While Paul performs across the United States, his tour schedule also includes regular stops across six continents. Paul headlines shows from Times Square to Tokyo and from Sydney to San Antonio.



On stage, Paul Ogata lays bare his insecurities, recounts his marital foibles and hammers on world events. Paul’s show is an edgy, often-improvised, always-hilarious romp through the corners of his mind. Buckle up and come along for the ride!

KT Tatara

KT Tatara has been charming audiences with his extraordinary blend of wit and likeability for over 15 years. A Washington D.C. native and former resident of West Virginia, KT possesses an uncanny ability to connect with people from urban and rural backgrounds.

His numerous television appearances include NBC’s “Last Comic Standing,” Comedy Central’s “Live at Gotham,” FOX’s “Lethal Weapon” and CBS’s “How I Met Your Mother.” He has also been invited to perform at the prestigious Just For Laughs festival 5 times.

In addition to his regular stand-up comedy show, KT is able to draw from his Japanese and Caucasian heritage to deliver a uniquely insightful and uplifting performance tailored for diversity-focused events.

K.T. Tatara is an actor and writer, known for Hole in One (2009), How I Met Your Mother (2005) and Greek (2007).

Is an alumnus if the Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia Fraternity.
Played trombone for 12 years and was 1st chair in the all state band his senior year of high school. Attended West Virginia University on a partial scholarship and graduated with a B.A. in music at age 20.
His father is Japanese and his mother is Caucasian.
